Stone Brewing – Vertical Epic 2008
WWED Grade: A-

Appearance: Fair
amount of sediment. Cloudy. Golden/Amber. Little head.
Smell: Yeast.
Like an Abbey. Apple. Apricot. Sweet aroma.
Taste: Goooood
beer! Didn’t smell much hoppiness – but it’s there in the taste. More bitter
than an Abbey. Comes through strong on the sides of my mouth.
Drinkability: Low carbonation almost like a cask ale – but a very easy to drink beer.
ABV: 8.6%
Serving Type: Bottle poured into goblet.
The hops and yeast like
sweetness in this beer are very well balanced. Easy to drink, would go well
with a light meal or stand well on it’s own. The Stone Vertical Epic is
absolutely just that – EPIC! Look on eBay, I’ve seen 4 bottle collections go
for $200. Seriously…it’s a beer you can age, or drink now. This bottle says it
will be best on December 12th, 2012. The bottle actually says a lot
about this beer. So read it when you buy it. This is the 7th in
their Epic series. Buy two – one for now, one for later. If you’re a
homebrewer, you can find the recipe for this beer at http://www.stonebrew.com/epic Happy
drinking!
