He’Brew Beer – Jewbelation Twelve (12th
Anniversary Ale – 2008)
WWED Grade: A

Appearance: About
one finger of nice light brown head – that died fast. Extremely dark brown,
can’t see any light through it.
Smell: Musky
malt. Bitter sweet hops. Almost whiskey or bourbon flavor. Earthy/woody. Aged
in oak?
Taste: Oaky.
Like a Barleywine Porter. Bitter on the sides of my mouth.
Mouthfeel: Light
carbonation, almost syrupy. Creamy on the slush.
Drinkability: Very drinkable if you enjoy dark, medium-heavy beers. Great on it’s own.
Wouldn’t drink it with a meal – could be very filling.
ABV: 12%
WOO-HOO!!!
Serving Type: Bottle poured in glass.
This is a beer drinkers beer
- definitely. You get a good wiff of it’s strong Oaky type Bourbon smell before
and during every sip (that may be partly due to the glass – so get a good glass!).
The label boasts “12 Malts and 12 Hops” and 12% ABV?!? Love it. But if you’re
not a beer person – you may not really appreciate that. I can’t exactly
decipher the 24+ different ingredients going into this beer myself – but it’s
sure packs a punch. The He’Brew Beer folks know what they’re doing – and they
do it right. Guess it’s taken them about 12 years to get here. “The chosen beer
of the chosen people”? Well – I can’t speak for the entire tribe, but I’d
choose it again :-)
