Abita Abbey Ale
WWED Grade: A

Appearance: Dark and cloudy. Hazelnut brown. Light
won’t penetrate. Thick, full and creamy head that appears to last.
Smell: Belgian
yeast. Caramel and strong malt scents. Sweetness? Mmm…I’m getting hungry!
Taste: Slightly sweet. Mildly bitter at the end. The
malts are very well balanced. If I were to be very esoteric – I might even say
some dried fruits. Like…apricots.
Drinkability: Very drinkable. Medium carbonation.
ABV: 8%
Serving Type: 22oz bomber poured in goblet.
This bottle is beautiful. But if you’ve read my
reviews before – you’ll know that that won’t sway me. Fortunately – this
beer lived up to the hype. Man – it was great! Thanks Abita. The malts are
balanced perfectly with some generous hops and yeast. Mmm…delicious!
